I’m heartbroken, devastated. But there is no one more heartbroken than the players. They battled, fought tooth and nail through 100+ games. They get battered and bruised while all we can do is cheer on the sidelines. I will never understand why there has to be a player/players that are bashed in this situation.
This series was a battle of attrition and luck. They gave what they could, but the Canucks were seriously the walking wounded. Hamhuis, #1D, severely tears his groin going for a hipcheck, I mean, what kind of luck is that? It changed the complexion of the Canucks defensive game. The leagues best offensive team broke a 70 year record for scoring the least amount of goals in a SCF. I mean, come on. Of course it didn’t help that our 3 of our top 6 forwards were injured. Just can’t catch a break. I can only imagine what this series could’ve been if they weren’t injured.
I hope I won’t have to wait 40 years for a Cup and I hope that those old timer Canucks fans who have been following the team since 1970 will have a Cup to cheer about before they die [their words, not mine]. Chances like these are so rare, the ‘before they die’ seems morbid, but at the same time, it’s so true.
Seeing Salo’s face. This was his chance, probably his only chance. It really hurts.
Should say this before game starts, or else if they lose, I’ll sound like I’m whining, hohoho.
Before this Raymond incident, the thing that pissed me off the most was the way the pathetic media and their so called ‘journalists’ were bashing the Sedins. They have no balls? I guarantee you that are 110% more man than you fat-ass or pencil-thin macho men sitting in front of a computer monitor typing up— making up— stories that are borderline slander. Those ‘articles’ are like glamorized personal blogs entries. So are you guys ‘journalists’ or bloggers? Hm, maybe I can earn a few bucks from my blog entries too. I’m so glad that in this day in age, I’m still subjected to outright xenophobic and misogynistic thoughts being spread around in the public media. Bravo.
The Sedins are outstanding people first of all. Excellent players, I don’t think I need to say. Two of the nicest, classiest, most upstanding professional athletes out there. Nothing has boiled my blood more than to hear the crap that’s been spewed about two of my favourite players. If Vancouverites can’t agree with each other on the Sedins’ status as elite players, they will always be able to agree on the fact that they are amazing people.
Even if they win tonight, they won’t be able to can shut all of you <insert nice word> ‘journalists’ up, but it would be oh so sweet. If they lose tonight, pushing aside the despair and depression I’ll be going through for the rest of the summer, I will still be so proud and appreciative of their efforts this season.
Swedish, they are. Awesome, they are. ‘Heart’, not something they lack.
If the Canucks lose tonight, it will not be because this team did not have enough ‘heart’. Which reminds me, this ‘heart’ thing is crap in the first place.
Why talk about losing though. Canucks, this is your moment, this is your time, go out, give it all you’ve got, and bring that Cup home.
